The Art of Contemporary American Pottery, by Kevin Hluch is an awesome book with great pictures, I always flip through it when I need ideas.  A potters workbook, by Clary Illian is also a good source.

I love ceramics, I only wish I had access to a pottery wheel.  Right now I only paint and glaze bisque and greenware.  Hopefully I'll be able to make something out of clay soon!  Currently I am scratching  out a picture of my state capital onto a plaque.  The plaque has been underglazed black and soft fired.

I'm not able to see your pictures at this time, but 2 techniques I always like looking at are raku-ware and horse hair.  Good luck w/your studies!

Great work!
Really, really great-- bowls look well-balanced & I love your use of color. I am envious of you ceramics skills, as everytime I try it winds up looking just like the stuff I did in Kindergarten. Sigh.
I hope you keep it up, let me know if you have a show or a sale!

I took Ceramics last semester, but it's a one-semester thing so next semester I have to do painting instead (I like painting, but I had SO much fun with ceramics!).  I wasn't very good at it, but I made a few things that were kinda cool.

Right now I'm trying to find a way to get ahold of a kiln.  They go on Ebay for fairly cheap...good ones, too (or at least better than the antique kiln I used).  I'm just worried about space/wiring/if it would be a fire hazard/ how I absolutely cannot take it to college with me/ a million other reasons why everyone doesn't own a kiln.
