My kids are big Green Day fans, and my younger daughter wanted a shirt.  SO, a shirt.

Front:

Back:

Somehow that line just seemed appropriate. Grin

BTW, she was thrilled when I told her that she was going to be on Craftster!  lol

Thanks. Grin

Actually, the story of my kids and the Green Day shirts is kind of amusing (at least I think so, but I don't get out much).  My older daughter (6) got two Green Day tshirts from my mom for Christmas (who would not believe me when I told her that she would be thrilled with the shirts and not toys), two posters and a wristband.  The other two older kids were totally jealous.  (My mom was amazed.  lol)  So my mom bought my son a Green Day shirt for his birthday next week, and I found one on clearance for the baby for his birthday in July, but we hadn't found one for Emily,  and she was so disappointed.  So I decided to make her one.  She chose the picture, and I chose the quote.
It's kind of funny, if I want the kids to be quiet in the van, all I have to do is put on the American Idiot CD, and they all start singing along, even the baby, who doesn't really talk yet.  They all know what parts they're not allowed to sing.  lol  I love my kids.  I never have to listen to the Wiggles in the car, I get requests for Green Day, Audioslave, and System of a Down.

Sounds like my kids. My daughter likes the 80's, my son likes Megadeth, and the baby seems to like it all! Maybe I should make some matching shirts for my kids. . . First the Megadeth Onsie. . .  Cool

ahhh....my fav. green day song.

sad story, though.  my bf was telling me that billie joe was saying they knew they had overcome the shadow of "Dookie" when they started singing "longview" at a concert and NO ONE in the crowd knew the words.  how can you call yourself a green day fan and NOT know Dookie by heart?  these youngins dont know what they're missing out on!

OMG!  I love Dookie!  That's the CD I listen to when I get mad (especially track # 2 - Having a blast, I think it's called).  I can't believe that people can call themselves Green Day fans and not know their earlier albums...It's kind of funny, when I was in high school, they were singing about love angst and whatnot, and as I got older the lyrics just seemed to reflect the changes in my life.  As I was moving out for the first time, Insomniac came out, with Westbound Sign.  Now that I'm older and politically aware, they come out with American Idiot.

Ooh...deep. Grin

My very favorite Green Day song is Paper Lanterns, from their first album.

Dookie is my "cleaning my room" album.  It always gets me pumped.  Or at least in a decent mood.  Smiley

That's so cool! I wish I was that cool when I was little.

But not everyone has forgotten the old Green Day! I'm a young'un, and i definitely prefer the old stuff. Kerplunk was my first Green Day CD, and is still my fave.  (I think I'm a young'un, anyway...I don't have kids, at least. My mom'd kill me. Cheesy)

(Edit: No she wouldn't then she'd have to raise 'em.)

That's so awsome. My Six year old brother requests Wake me up when september ends or Good riddance nightly for lullabies and can name about 10 green day songs by the first two chords (gods help you if you switch the radio and they are playing) I wish my mom made me cool greenday shirts. Sad
