I need help knowing how much material I need for my skirt.

I'm going to do it like in the second post on this thread, but with two pieces, so there are 8 points instead of 4.

I also want the points to go down to about the top or middle of my knee.

Edit: I'll be making it out of t-shirt knit.

yeah, there's a tutorial for pixie skirts (or whatever you'd call them) at www.WhatTheCraft.com. lots pictures and examples.
