some light gluing and some sewing i would imaging, plus probably fitting/stretching it perfect to size.

I am always battling with linings... these two turned out very nicely. I think because they have fewer seams then some of my other bags. I used a lightweight iron-on interfacing on the satin lining... and pressed my seams. Other than that... maybe I just got lucky with these two? I'm not quite sure either. I'll probably make another one of the same design and it won't be nearly as nice... you never know.
