1) Yes, I have 2 boys ages 5 and 7

2) Blue, with orange a close second

3) 15-19.99 (I have 3 kids so $30 USD on an outfit is really my limit)

4)  Price and Room for growth (you didn't put quality or I would have chosen that)

5)  Cotton

6)  All are fine, but trousers, long shorts (they're called boardshorts here in California) and short sleeve shirts are my favorites on my kids.  I don't like dungarees, which I believe are called overalls here in the states.

7)  Cats are lovely, but I don't know how they would work for boys' clothing.  Perhaps only for girls.

This feedback is great. Thank you all so much.

Forgot to mention - I'm planning to do a girls outfit (because of the versatility of surface decoration that can be applied to them), but would like opinions from both parents of boys and girls.

turtletrbl - I forgot to put quality, it's a bit late to add it now as I have already printed many questionnaires but I will include it in my analysis of research.

craftster is such a great resource as well as a great way to spread ideas.

Again thank you all.

Sarah

PS. Still need another 10 (minimum) surveys filled in, if any other parents are out there. Thank you in advance.  Smiley

7. Do you think a cat theme would be suitable? (cat motif etc.)
undecided. depends on the theme. cutesy kitten theme: yes for a girl, no for a boy. my son is 6 and wouldn't be caught dead in "cat" clothing. However, my daughter (she just missed your age group when she turned 8 a couple of weeks ago) adores kittens. big mama cats...not so much. anything that makes her go "awwwww" she'll wear.

hope this helps.

I won't pay a lot for things I know my kids will just eventually grow out of.

4. What are the two most important factors when choosing clothes for children?
Room for growth
Price
Appearance (Quality)

5. What fabrics do you prefer?
Cotton, (but blends are okay too)

6. What clothes do you like on children aged 5-7?
Hmm... This depends on the occasion and the season. Where I live, in the American midwest, the weather changes dramatically throughout the year.    I like dresses for church;  trousers for playtime and school; long or short sleeves depending on the weather; shorts in the summer; cropped trousers in spring.

7. Do you think a cat theme would be suitable? (cat motif etc.)
Sure! Cats are cute. I'd get a cat theme for my daughter, but not my son.

For girls; yes, for boys; I'm not so sure. I'd prefer tigers/lions/etc for boys

Side note: I've just finished my Children's Clothes Unit 1 project in textiles. I thought it was fun. : ) Now we're onto a bag project which is going to be interesting. Hope the unit goes well for you.
