what kind of turtle is that? he's so cute! i used to have 3 red ear sliders, but they didn't get any bigger. i'd like one of those, though!

what's it like having a turtle?  is she cuddly?

she is so not cuddly we don't really handle her that much so she doesn't like being handled. she  hisses when she gets mad from handling, so i guess she got that from my side of the family! she's very active, though, and when she feels safe in the water, she likes to follow my finger up and down the tank.  her colors were super emeraldy when we got her, like unnaturally so, but her shell's become progressively browner as it's gotten bigger/thicker. she is a yellow bellied/red eared slider mix. she had red ears at one point, but they've faded.

my baby now:

i thought she was going to be cute and little forever, but she is supposed to be a foot and a half and i'm eventually moving her to an 80 gallon tank. she's in a 45 gallon right now. she's a great pet; more of a viewing than handling one, too. i have the puppy for cuddling!

She sent me the most beautiful, and beautifully made, wristlet purse. I love it. I love it so much, if I had imagined the perfect wristlet it still wouldn't be as beautiful as the one she made me!    It looks like something you'd find in a high-end chic boutique, and since I would probably get kicked out of a high-end chic boutique ("get that scruffy girl out of here! *boot*"), receiving one in a swap is just heaven.

THANK YOU, loves2! I will post a pic soon! I am going to a wedding in a month, now I have the perfect purse to wear, all I need to do is find a dress to match it!

Off-topic sidenote/ridiculous story/bizarre event/too much information/call for advice:
I just sneezed unexpectedly while eating beets.  Now I'm finding little bits of beet (and the pink splotches they leave behind) on my clothes, on the wall (surprisingly far from where I'm sitting), etc.  Any ideas how to clean it up without making the mess worse?
Are you cracking up while reading this?  Because I just cracked up while re-reading it...  And, yes, it's all true.
