This is just the sort of thing I have been looking for! I love the look of embroidered stuff but I wanted something more abstract than clipart-y to try. I loved my spirograph as a kid except I could never make the designs that the booklet suggested. I also was a big fan of the spin art toy-which could be made with a cheap salad spinner but I have yet to find a cheap salad spinner that I like!

I liked it in the first pics, just with the basic random embroidery too!  Good idea, and great inspiration!  Your friend got some pretty designs for her bag(s)...

Now the wintertime is coming,
The windows are filled with frost.
I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you
When your train gets lost.

Love the hat and the idea! The colors are great, too!

I wondered if there was something we could do online, and print off, and guess what? I found these links:

http://www.cartooncritters.com/encyclo.html    (click the random button to see how to get different effects!)

http://www.math.dartmouth.edu/~dlittle/java/SpiroGraph/    This one is really cool!

http://www.goriya.com/java/spirograph/spirograph.shtml   again, use the random button.

I had fun with these. If you have "printkey" program, you can save as jpg or other graphic files.

When I was younger, we found the Spirograph set that my dad had in the 50s and I ADORED it. This brings back soo many good memories Smiley
