i made this little pink elephant for my friend:

she's about 6" tall and features white stars on her ears and tummy.  i used the pattern from How to Crochet Amigurumi Animals: http://www.anniesattic.com/detail.html?prod_id=17874

i left it to my friend to name her and determine what she likes and dislikes after getting to know her.

I just learned to crochet and I really want to crochet amigurumi!

Was the book easy to learn from?   How hard would you say crocheting amigurumi is?

Hey, what is amigurumi?  I kinda crochet ( I mean I do, not so great though hehe), and I have never heard of it. Your elephant is sooo sweet, it reminds me of the puffalumps (Sp?) so cuddly...

hi!  i found this particular book super helpful because it is in English (most of these books are not) and it has instructions written out rather than in chart form.  so if you want to learn, i would recommend trying to get your hands on a copy.  i am not the best crochet-er and in my brief experience (this is the third little guy i have made) i think that it is not too hard because it is just singles in a round.   i also have book that is in japanese with the charts that i am bound and determined to learn to interpret.

thanks! i am no expert on amigurumi, so i won't try to give a definition, but here is a cute answer to your question: http://amigurumi-along.blogspot.com/2005/06/whats-amigurumi.html.  search on amigurumi on this site and see all the other little critters craftsters have made!

Eeeee!  Your pink elephant can be buddies with my pink elephant.  He's so cute.  I love him.  Or her.
