Here's an octopus I whipped up for a friend who was about to have a baby girl. I had to finish in three days so the pressure was on, but I did it.  Changed the mouth a bit since I wasn't crazy about the one in the pattern. Next time I make one of these I'll definitely add more suckers, as this is what really makes this project cool IMO.

I used the Bernat baby boucle as suggested - got a ton of it on sale a few months ago so this was a perfect project!

The pattern can be found here: http://www.crochetme.com/2005_Oct_Nov/pattern_octopus.html

"But why don't you scream now?" Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again.

"Why, I've done all the screaming already," said the Queen. "What would be the good of having it all over again?"

That rocks. I want to make one now, but I am totally hopeless when it comes to following patterns.

Oh, I am bad with patterns too... I just loosely followed the pattern, which was not so "strict" if that makes sense. In the end I just did it by checking to see if I had the right shape going. It's not hard! And the pattern is very forgiving of mistakes.

Great octopus!  You're the first person I can recall who has actually made this pattern. (I visit a lot of crochet forums.)  The colors are good too...

There's too much sky and not enough blue.
