Hello there. I have noticed an appalling lack of bead shops around Glasgow. I keep hearing about this bead store "in the back of a toy store" in Edinburgh, but I'm looking for a good selection of nice quality glass and stone beads closer to home. I don't want what The Art Store or Miller's has to offer.

I like shopping online, but I prefer to go and touch them if possible. Anyone know if this exists in Glasgow?

Thanks Smiley

Not so much... outside of the artstore or millers there's John lewis or mandors which offer much of the same (glutermans) but it's pretty much mail order.

Not really in the Glasgow area and not overly cheap neither, speshly not compared to online, but the bead shop in Haddington is worth a look.  Better than Helios Fountain (probably the Edinburgh "at the back of the toy shop" place you were talking about!).

Why not take a look at my site www.uk-beaders.co.uk it even has a map of bead shops! OK so there aren't that many shops on the map yet but I only added it today! It has lots of beading resources for anyone in the UK.  Smiley

I was in Perth a few weeks ago - and there is a new little shop which only sells beads - absolutely fabulous - take the bus and get yourself there - it is almost at the river downtown, not far from St.John's Kirk - sorry cannot remember the street - but the tourist info place should be able to help. Take lots of dosh as you will want to buy!!!!!

I don't know if everyone already knows about this on but there's a place called The Bead Company opened on Keith Street in the west end. There's ad up in the subway that supposedly if you mention having seen you'll get a 10% discount. Heres their website: http://www.thebead.co.u.
