No Joann's in town (boo-urns) although whenever we travel I make sure to visit one - and everything Michael's carries is acrylic so it doesn't felt. (Double boo-urns) The exchange rate is not very good. $70 CAD is still a significant amount of money... $55. I think we need some better yarn stores around here.

This was one of the first things I ever made!  The bag really holds up awesomely too, I've been carrying it around since June and it looks as good as it did right after completion.

-Smithers, are they booing me?
-Um, no.  They're saying ... "Boo-urns!  Boo-urns!"

Sorry, couldn't resist.  Wink

That looks awesome.  My friend keeps telling me to get that book.  I can see why she recommended it.

when i made that bag, i used the correct yarn and followed the pattern exactly and mine turned out much taller than wide, and i have no idea why.

Then again, that could provide a much-needed boost to the oversized novelty cheque industry.

I got my yarn! I went to my LYS and got Peace Fleece. It's a higher mohair content than the one in the book, but the owner showed me a felted purse she had made from it and it looked great! I got Perestroika Pink and Firebird Orange - pretty much the same colors as in the book.

Me too, naked!  which is the biggest reason why I haven't posted a pic, it looks deformed.  I still LOVE it and use it, but if I made another one, I'd double the pattern to make it larger and shorten it up some.

Also, the yarn I used for the top color, although same brand and everything, was thinner then the other stuff, so it felt weird to knit with, and felted kinda strange too.  Had to do a lot of shaping and blocking.  But dang, It's still my baby.

Really popular bag, huh?  Wink
I can see why, though, I adore mine!! I made it with hot pink and turquoise lamb's pride. I just haven't gotten around to putting on snaps yet. But I LOVE IT. Smiley

Is everyone just following the pattern for the pouch? I guess I should just have faith, but I cannot for the life of me fathom how the pattern given is gonna give the pouch shown. I really wanted a pouch that was more pink than orange, but the pattern only has me doing 5 rows of the pink (CC in the pattern). Also, I don't see how it's gonna go together. I've finished the bag, but I gotta figure out this pouch!

Rincaro~

When I made the pouch, I thought it would never work, since it looked nothing like the pouch in the book.  But it worked.  Still doesn't look like the pouch in the book, but still functional and cute.  Have faith...
