My wedding dress has two small embroidered appliques attached to the bottom.  I've been peeling them off because I want to replace them with ribbon bows, but some of the glue is still sticking to the fabric.  Is there a way to remove this glue (or an easier way to remove the appliques) besides just peeling it off without damaging the dress?  Would steam or an iron work, or is there a product made for removing fabric glue?
