Hi Tacitcat! I'm so glad to see you here, it was your comment in your
Knit a Toy-along
that made me finally start this knitalong. I kept seeing so many people on blogs saying they had lone socks. Your socks are great - I love the color patterning of the green one, and that koolaid yarn is gorgeous.
Way to go, Krebstar5!
Can't wait to see them!
I have cast on for Tiger II. Balloons didn't fall from the ceiling, but I feel like they should have.

This is my first sock. I used Cat Bordhi's book
Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles.
The yarn is Koigu KPPPM #121. The toe came out a bit wonky and boxy. I started the toe decreases too soon, so I had to switch from size 1US needles to 2's and made fewer decreases. (Yes, I have no idea what I'm doing.) Anyway this was a pretty quick, fun knit. My right foot is delightfully warm. I'm so glad to be joining your KAL, Horse Power!

Hi there SewerRat!
That is a fabulous color sock, it needs a mate!
I can hardly believe it, I'm actually
making
this sock and I'm excited about it. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking "I want to go knit on the sock."
The cuff is done and I'm starting on what looks like apprx. 12 rounds of stockinette.

Horse Power--i love the "what looks like apprx. 12 rounds of stockinette" line...i take that to mean that you, like me, don't take notes. i don't know that i've ever made an actual matching pair of socks as the second is usually a tiny bit different than the first....

lol... glad to know I'm not the only one. Why do we do this? It's not like we don't KNOW we have to make a second one!
Well, last night I finished the 12 (or so) rounds of stockinette and divided 34 stitches for the heel and am about 3 rows into that. I knit slowly on these tiny needles, but I think I will get there.

All done! My socks might not be perfect, but they are all set and ready to wear. It's funny how you can notice all the mistakes after it's too late, but I'll just pretend that little mistakes give my socks charm. So anyway, submitted for your approval....my random patterned socks:
Thanks for the motivation guys! I can't wait to see everyone else's finished socks.

Okay, I guess I'm a little unclear on the concept of this knitalong, 'cause instead of knitting a mate for my very first sock, I cast on for three other socks! I can't help it! Sock yarn is so addictive! Help meeeee!

Sewer Rat! lol. If it's more fun to alternate with the pretty yarns, I say go for it, but make lots of notes for the seconds! I know how you feel, though, I'm desperately trying to finish Tiger II before the new pattern I ordered arrives in the mail, because I know I will want to start it on the spot. I have some awesome bright green and yellow yarn from the stash all ready to go.
I think today I will be able to start the decreases for the toe!
...almost.... there...
