I'm so excited to be posting something here.  I just noticed this board yesterday, and I couldn't wait to get something up!

I'm most comfortable in t-shirts, and I think the cut of them really is one of the best styles for my body.  But I'm always looking for t-shirts that aren't too lame and don't look too "laying around the house".

I made this one today from scratch.  I made the pattern by tracing a t-shirt I bought recently at Torrid, and then I put this together with that pattern.

I'd love to know what you guys think.  Is this a yay or a nay?  Honesty is great, I already know my husband is thumbs down on it.  But he's kinda down on anything different, so his opinion's a bad barometer.

Here's pics:

Probably can't tell, but there's a little button on the top of the sleeve split.

I was also thinking that I could sew the bottoms of the sleeven together with a little button, and it would look sort of peekaboo.

Also, should I hem it like a regular shirt hem or should I add the green edging to the bottom too?

Okay, Go!

ETA: The last picture, a close up of the trim and the button on the sleeve.  The trim is two tone loops, cotton I think.

that is so cute! really nice and simple. i definitely say yay. and i think you should add the green along the botton, that would really tie the whole thing together, i think.

I second the green along the bottom.  It really is lovely on you, very fresh-looking.  I love it!

That is such a great idea! It looks very pretty and springy, I really like your color choice. I agree that green on the bottom would tie it all together.

Well I LOVE it! I think it looks fabulous on you, and I just adore the sleeve splits (I love funky sleeves) and the green/blue around the edges, it looks great (as in, not too 'laying around the house') as well as very comfy at the same time (so you CAN lay around the house in it Tongue)
This is one of my fave tops I've seen on Craftster, great job Smiley

Thanks everyone.  I did the edging on the bottom and now it's all finished, and I have a new shirt to wear tomorrow.  Take that husband.  lol  It's a good thing for him we don't have much say in dressing each other, I can think of a ton of things in his side of the closet I'd like to see gone.
I added another pic in the original post so you can see a close up of the trim.  It's not the best, but it gives you the idea of its style.

I say big YEAH on the shirt!! It has a nice shape to it and looks FAB!
I say a big "POOPIE"  Tongue to the husband. Though I have to say I admire you for being able to get an opinion out of him. My husband thinks EVERYTHING looks "good" and that is the most I can get out of him.  Roll Eyes
I have intentionally put on awful stuff just to see if I could get more than "good" out of him and it didn't work. WTF?!?!?!
Anyway, A++++ on the shirt - it looks great!!

Poo on your husband!  I think you look cute in it.  The cut is flattering on you too.  Good work!
