I just came across this on NPR. Might be on interest for those wanting to get away.

All Things Considered -
The National Trust of Scotland is seeking tenants for two properties on Fair Isle, the most remote inhabited island of Scotland. Anne Sinclair, a resident and historian of Fair Isle (pop: 65), says someone with knitting or construction skills would have no trouble making a living there. The knitting cooperative, for example, has more orders than it can fill.

Yeah, I am having a bad day at work and leaving to a remote island to knit my life away sounds nice. Although I think it would be knitting for profit vs. pleasure maybe a bummer in the end.

My partner from the My Country Doesn't Have That swap was from Scotland. I think I could enjoy living there. But if I go, will I have to eat haggis?

This would be pretty cool if I could convince someone to go with me. I have always wanted to live abroad. Oh well, it does sound like fun.
