Okay, this did not turn out as well as I would have liked it too. I will blame a combination of my incompetence, the use of interfacing (which I have never used before), and the use of a new sewing machine (really really confusing, but I'm getting the hang of it).

It was made on rather short notice. My sister reminded me yesterday that it was our mom's birthday and it was my turn to make the gift. So she gets a handy pencil case/cosmetic bag/thing to carry stuff. Oh well, it's cute so I suppose it will have to do.

i love that lining as well!
it's always a challenge working on a project with a machine you're unfamiliar with....  i'd say you did a great job for having to deal with the whole "new machine" thing.
