Can anyone recommend a book or perhaps some patterns which require large needles?  I've gotten my hands on some Ribbon tape, that will require a very large needle.  I'm talking 19 and up, and I could use some inspiration.

Big Knitting by Sophie Britten

I got this book a couple months ago but I haven't done anything from. I'm sure there's a pattern you could knit with that yarn.

I keep eyeing this book at my local book store:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1571203117/ref=pd_lpo_k2a_1_img/104-5396289-5286306?%5Fencoding=UTF8

it has some really interesting patterns, but i think a lot of the 'yarn' used in the projects is fabric that has been cut into strips.  It's definately worth checking out though Smiley

I've made a couple of things using "Chunky Knits" by Carolyn Clewer as a kind of guide. There are some sweaters, bags, a coat, etc. All with a guage of, like 2 or 2 1/2 st = 1".

One of my fave sweaters was a mutation of one of those patterns. It's a v-neck that I did with doubled worsted weight yarn. (It's my around the house sweater, because, the thing about bulky knits is that they are bulky.)

There's one of Vogue Knitting's small books called Chunky Knits, and I think patterns in The Yarn Girl's Guide to Simple Knits is more large needle than conventional size knitting.

This totally sounds like the book I need, simply because my "yarn" is basically fabric cut into strips.  Thanks for posting and responding e1.

Rowan has a yarn called Big Twist which is wool plus fabric. Most patterns are large needle knits. Just google Rowan knits and look at the books. There are tons on ebay for a decent price if you don't have a store that sells them.

I like them because they are quite modern. Cheesy

No, I was merely reading the Muggle magazines. I do love knitting patterns.

What is your ribbon tape like, Necia? I bought some Moda Dea (I think) Ticker Tape a few weeks back because it was calling my name in the store. I haven't done anything with it yet.  Curious to see what you make.
