Swap name: Earth Day Global Recycled Swap!
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Porfiry
Sign-up date range: March 8, 2006 – March 15, 2006
Date to send item by: April 15, 2006

Limited to a certain number of people? No

Non-U.S. participants allowed? Absolutely!  Cheesy

All ages allowed? Or 18+? All ages are welcome.

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

DETAILS OF SWAP:
+ This swap is a celebration of Earth Day, so you will make one crafty item from mostly recycled, reused, renewed, reclaimed materials.  (I say mostly because it’s okay if things like thread, glue, etc. are new.)

+ Crafty items that promote Earth Day or the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle!) or nature are a plus; for instance you could make a tote bag out of pants you don’t wear anymore, cut up your old green t-shirt and sew on a tree appliqué.

+ You must ship by April 15 so that we will have our crafts in time to show them off on Earth Day (April 22).  This gives you nearly a month of craft time.  Get creative and have fun!

+ If you live in the USA and are sending to someone else in the USA, you should obtain a DC#, and let me & your partner know what it is when you send. If you don't live in the USA and/or are sending overseas, and there's no affordable form of tracking, keep your receipt as proof in case it gets lost.

+ I will be checking in on you around the 7th of April.

+ When you sign up & are approved, please post a message in this thread so that I know you'll be getting the updates etc.

If you want to participate, please send me a pm with the following questionnaire and also Earth Day Swap in the subject line:

After promising myself NO MORE SWAPS, CONCENTRATE ON COURSEWORK...I found myself with heaps of ideas for this one! (You know, just as an excuse for clearing out my cupboard, haha).

Question: as a guideline, how much roughly should we make? Just the one item? Or more?

I was thinking one craft that you put a lot of thinking/time into.  Something like a tote bag, a journal, a clothing recon, a crocheted grocery sack, that type of thing.  But, it's also true that you could opt to make several smaller items, like magnets or stationary, or stuffies.  You could also work something out with your partner.
