I finally finished My little girl to be Brenna's baby quilt today! Took me a lot longer than it would have if I weren't on partial bed rest and only able to sit at the sewing machine for 20 minutes at a time!! All of the squares were sent to me by 10 other mommies due during the same month as me, 4/06. There are 96 4 inch squares and it measures 33x46 inches. I did a simple stitch in the ditch, would have done more if I had more time but wanted to make sure I had it done before she gets here!! The backing compliments and matches her crib set which was specially made too. Thanks for looking!!

Very cute and colorful!  She will love it as she grows older and can start picking out characters and learning colors!

yup there is batting in there. The back is just a piece of fabric laid down on the floor right side down, batting on top and then the quilt top right side up on top of it. Then I just quilted it around each square and trimmed the edges so they were even and sewed the satiny binding on. Very simple quilt! Hope that makes sense! I would have made it more complicated but wanted to get it done before she makes her arrival lol! Good luck with it!

Thats adorable!  Is the satin binding difficult to work with?

Yes and no. I just had to make sure that it was pinned right against the edge but it wasn't too hard. My 2 yr old kept trying to pull at it as I was sewing it though lol! So that was the hard part for me!

Very pretty!

I love the simple design.  It lets the cute fabric stand out.
