I sold my first item on Etsy today.  The buyer paid me immediately with a credit card through Paypal.  In his email he asked me to send it to a different address because it was a gift, and he gave a woman's name & address.  He only just signed up on Etsy today, so I am a little concerned that maybe it is a stolen credit card or something.  Should I be worried?  Am I being paranoid?

It may be that his girlfriend pointed something out to him on Etsy and that's why he just signed up.  I don't sell through Etsy, is there a way you can see all the Paypal info?  What's the address that Paypal gave?  Does it match his name and the credit card name?

I wouldn't be overly concerned unless it's like a crazy amount of money.  But other may have different ideas.

You are right.  It is under $10, I am not going to worry about it!!!!!

I was just in such a tizzy over my first sale!  :-)

Well, yes, that can be a trick of the fraud trade, and folks will typically try to spend under the radar (below $50), but not that far under the radar. I would go ahead and send the merchandise, but if he comes back right away for another purchase I might check him out more thoroughly.
