I recently bought a book off amazon.com called "Being Vegan" that I didn't really like. I'm not old enough to sell it online, so I thought maybe we could have a swap in which you can get rid of books you no longer want in exchange for one you do want. Like we could have a list of all the books craftsters would like to get rid of and who ever wants the book can PM the person who has it. The idea needs to be tweaked a bit, but what do you guys think?

From the book Godless:

Just Al: I know that God is real. I feel his presence in my heart
Me: What does it feel like?
Just Al: It's hard to describe Jason. It feels good.
Me: Oh. I thought maybe it was like heartburn or something.

That sounds cool to me...maybe it could be set up like one of the ongoing swaps...Ongoing Book Swap maybe...like say you start...You post a list of books you have and would be willing to part with.  Someone (preapproved) comes along and says..."Hey!  I'll take your "Being Vegan" book and here are the books I can part with"...just an idea.  To make it a bit more crafty maybe the sender could embellish the book they send a bit...just some ideas.

terrific idea!  I'd be in!

Making an effort to use proper English and not 'net slang makes me much more willing to respond to your post.

this is an awesome idea!  I have books falling off of shelves around here but I just can't throw them away.  I especially like the idea of embellishing the books for the person who will be recieving.  Maybe a creative book bag to go along with the book? Or a custom bookmark?

I like the custom bookmark idea. I think if it was run like an ongoing swap it would be great. I would organize if noone else wanted to.

I'd definitely jump in on this one. I have an insane amount of books that I'm trying desperately to make myself part with. I just get so attached. But if I could give them to someone who would love them like I do then I'd be okay with it. I love the idea of a custom bookmark to go with the book for the swap too! Yay!

you know what else would be cute! I was thinking of making an old style looking library card for the front of mine, and putting my name, email and the date in the front, and spaces for the next person to fill it out and so on, kinda like book crossing.

I like the ongoing book swap and custom bookmark ideas - that way you can jump in when you want - good idea. Love bookmarks and books <G>
