My husband broke his old power drill/screwdriver when he dropped it while working around the house. I was going to buy a holster for his new drill but couldn't find one that fit his requirement. So I sew him one customized to his preference:  sturdy, stiff hard case for easy insertion of drill, right angle so the drill won't fall out when he's climbing ladders or bending down, and water/grease proof.

I used vinyl flooring material as padding to make it real tough, sandwiched between rubber backed canvas outer cover. It took me less than one hour of productive working time. Hes used it and likes it a lot.

Now let me see if I can post pictures (model by hubby the handy man):

Thanks!

Hubby did built a 12'x12' deck, a 10'x10' covered deck & porch, an outside cooking ranch in that porch, a 10'x20' patio cover, two 10' tall trellis for my Clematis, a dog house, and a cat tree :-). Of course I helped out on every one. Also when I said the old sewing machine was acting up, the guy said "Get a new one. You deserve it.". Now if that doesn't deserve a custom made drill holster, I don't know what would.

He's asking me to add a MP3 cozy on that same tool belt. Looks like it's time to search crafters.org for inspiration again!
