Honey's 5 hour skully dog beanie and legwarmers to match *pattern added 4th post

 ok  . . so i was inspired by this post : http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=67868.0  . . the 15 minute dog beanie.  well . . . mine took A LOT longer . . it was probably the most technically diffucult thing i've ever knit. at one point in time i had 4 different balls of yarn going! which was diffucult for me. i made the pattern and if anyone's interested i could post it here.

so now she has a new hat and a set of leg warmers to match.  . . . here they are on the bed . .

i didn;t take a picture of the whole thing together yet . . and i'm sorry about honey's "pout for the camera" look . . she's a cam whore.

i hope you all enjoy  . . and thank you to "rock-it" for inspiring me to make honey a beanie.  oh and i got the skull design from SnBN.

this is soooo amazing!  I heart it! please oh please post the pattern!  I have a chihuahua that I think would look adorable in this! but his legs will be too skinny to put the skulls on the leg warmers, but the hat would be amazing.

ok here is the pattern for MY dog. with red heart supersaver and size 8 straight needles. i've added a 'drawing' with all the necessary measurements that one needs to make .. .



Stripes= Garter stitch
Pink = seperate ball of yarn
Red/Green dots = pick up i cord sts.

ok. . i

CO 67 sts, then worked in Garter stitch until i had about an inch.  (long stripey piece)

then i

BO 5, K5, BO13, K21, BO13, K10.
next row,
BO5  then you have to break the yarn. you'll need one ball for each pink section. i wound up two really tiny balls for the small side pieces.

knit across all pieces ( i did the center section in St St (thus no stripeys))  until the side pieces are about
1 1/2" long, then only work the center. i did the skull from SnBN, but this part is about 3" wide. 

whew .. moving on.

when you finish the center, you'll have to finish off one side piece  and when you finish up that side you'll have to CO 5 sts.

turn

K10, CO13, K21, CO13, K5, CO5.

switch to one piece of yarn and join all pieces. then work in garter stich for another inch and BO all sts.

Then  . . pick up 3 sts where the red/green dots are . . . the green dots indicate that ONE stitch should be picked jup through BOTH layers of fabric. knit i cord for about 9" on each side  .. weave in ends and take a damn break  . . cuz you'll deserve it. or, at least i did.

OMG! That is so sweet!  Honey is definitely an ambassador for her breed!!  My dogs are jealous and are staring at me right now as if to say, "Mom, learn intarsia already!" (or they might be staring at me hoping they get some of the chicken I am cooking)

That is one of the most rockin' pet accessories I have seen in a long, long time!
