Have you all seen this Berocco pattern: http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/lorraine/lorriane_lg.html

It looks a little bit similar to the Ferragamo bag, sort of the same style. I came across it today and it reminded me of this thread.

Happy knitting!!

OOOh Kate you rock for figuring this out.  Yet another project I must copy off of you (once I finish butterfly...and river....)  I made an awesome Margaret Nicole ripoff that looks identical to hers, so I feel the need for another knit handbag...

I've been following along ever since this thread was started.  I love how it is turning out.  Sorry for not being able to contribute anything other than words of encouragement.  Let us know when the pattern is finished!

Craftsters rule! Who else could figure this fancy-schmancy bag out...

What about doing a basketweave-type stitich for the top of the bag in a dark brown yarn or some earthy yarn, like bamboo, to replicate the effect of the wicker. Kinda similar concept to the Berocco pattern Illanna24 shared.

I am definitely going to have to add this project to my list.

Hello Knitting Divas!!

Count me in on this fabulous must have bag.

You guys are amazing.  I could not have figured this pattern out in a million years.

Hooray!!  Hooray!!

Me Too Me Too!!!
I wanna join the fake-a-gamo bag group!
I totally see what you mean about the basket weave top with some kind of earthy yarn/material to get that same effect; I dont know if you can actually buy the handles like that anywhere. Undecided

Ok... so who has the beta for the pattern?  I don't need the whole bag, but just the triangles with the drops.

Hello all!  I know i am late in the game here..........

If you want the pattern for the Ferragamo bag as well as the Valentino bag (which I am knitting now, FABULOUS!) you can get them from La Knitterie Parisienne, Studio City CA.  800-2BUYYARN provided you purchase the yarn for from her.  She has her Ferragamo bag out being finished now with the leather woven top!!!!  That is my next project, I really didn't want to knit this beautiful bag and have cheesy bamboo etc handles.  I will post my pic of my Valentino bag once I get it done.

(can't remember where i saw that, but if i find it again, i'll post.) i've made good progress beta-testing the pattern a bunch of us came up with and will be posting a new & improved version of it on my blog soon!
