Here's my take on the zippered pouch.
Assemble your ingredients.
- 2 pieces of lining fabric and two pieces of outside fabric (Mine were 8.5"x6"
- Sewing Supplies/Sewing Machine
Iron! This is important!
Lay your zipper zipper side down on a piece of outside fabric (The outside fabric is rightside up.)
Sew it together using the zipper foot on your sewing machine.
Repeat with your other piece of outside fabric.
Unzip the zipper and admire your work. Nice, man. This is a good time to fix your pouch if you didn't capture all the ends of the fabric. Iron it again.
Flip the entire shebang over. Put a piece of your lining fabric upside down. Line it up with the zipper, pin and sew.
Flip it out and take a peak.
Now do it on the other side! Yay!
Check it out!
Then, UNDO your zipper so that bag is flapping in the breeze... and seperate the fabric. That means put the lining fabric on one side and the outside fabric on the other.
Stitch around all the sides of the bag! However, leave a two inch gap in the lining. You will use this to turn the fabric inside out.
Clip the corners so you get a nice clean edge when you turn the bag inside out.
Pull everything out of the bag through the hole you left in the lining. Pull and Push and eventually it'll start to look like a bag.
Stitch up the hole that you left in the lining. Make sure to fold the fabric like shown in the picture so it doesn't fray.
Tuck the lining fabric into the outside fabric.
Meet your new pouch!
