fold one of the handles inside itself about 1/2'' and slide the other handle piece inside the tube.  Stitch a box with an 'X' inside over the layers.  I used a different colour in the bobbin so that the stiching blended with the two fabrics.  Hope that makes sense. Grin

Very cute! Even though you have the yard stick next to it, could you give the measurments of the material cut. It looks twenty by something for the whole thing, but if you could give the inches of the body and the inches of the handle it would help alot.   Thanks.
