Feeling the need to crochet...

I just finished making my very first journal and thought that I would share the pictures.

I used the tutorial here: http://personal.mem.bellsouth.net/d/r/drv1913/0204.html
I found the whole thing quite fun.

I used some gift wrap I had to cover it, but I think I should of maybe used something a bit thicker.
It has 100 pages and it measures approx. 4 1/2" wide, 6" tall and 1" deep.

The next one I do I want to cover in fabric but I'm unsure of what kind of glue to use. I was going to try PVA glue but decided not.

Here are the pictures:

Let me know what you think Smiley

Edit: the pictures are of different sizes, oops.

Cute! I use Heat bond to cover my journals with fabric. You can get it at the fabric store. You iron it to the fabric, and then you peel away the backing, and iron it to the work. It is easy and clean. I use the heavy dutiest kind (I don't remember the style name.

very cute~! i made my first journal a few days ago as well, for a friend's birthday and i used fabric.. (denim leftovers, actually, from previous jeans to skirt projects ^__^) and PVA glue worked just fine... coz i didnt actually glue the whole cover... i just glued the flappy parts that fold over onto the inside.. if you get what i'm saying....

Thank you everyone. I'm trying to improve and maybe start to sell them online. I really enjoy making them.
