the moose is stencilled on.  the blue flannel is also a pocket.

this is just a piece of fleece that i machine stiched around the edge.

oh yeah, this is my first post.  and really, my first sewing venture.  i had A LOT of help from my mom.  anyhow, the pillow is for my best friend.  the blanket is mine, but i'm making him one as well (we both love hockey).

aww that moose pillow is cute. i''m quite new myself. may i ask what you used to get the stencil on that blue fabric? what type of paint?

i'd love to have a set of those pillows on my couch!  Grin

i just used spraypaint.  i was initally just seeing if flannel would hold spraypaint.  i like the way it looked so i washed it and made sure it didn't wash off (it just faded a little..made it look rustic).  it also took the spray paint scent away.  it's not as hard (texture wise) as i thought it'd be.

perfect! i'm so excited. i' ve heard of different ways to apply stencils..since your way seemed to work so well...i will be off to the craft stores today to make myseif a pillow!!  thanks! Cheesy
