I saw an Alexander McQueen top in a shop in Manchester and I really liked it. It was on the cover of a magazine last week - I have a photo somewhere, but I can't find it at the mo Roll Eyes .  Anyway, this is my homage:

It's a t shirt recon, really!

What do you think?!

Edit: Here's the picture I was talking about:

Thank you!  I put an old t shirt on my mannequin, and drew round where I wanted to cut (fairly low on the boobs), then I cut around, and hemmed the cut edge

I measured around the new neck hole, and got a piece of cotton this length, folded it in half and hemmed it.

I sewed the cotton band to the inside of the neck of the t shirt, then punched thpse metal circle things in the a hammer (I never remomber what they're called!)

I realise this isn't the best explanation in the world, but I hope it helps!  Smiley

Oh my goodness what a lovely thing to say!

Girlypirate: Do you mean what does it look like on? or do you mean is it comfortable?  Either way - I haven't worn it out yet because it's a bit cold!!!

This is an intersting way to change a t-shirt. I really liked this one.

both i suppose, but mostly wondering about the comfort of it.  i'm really tempted to try something like this, it's very unique.

I'll get my hubby to take a picture of it on.  I want to wear it as soon as it's warm enough.

Goodness me, how I love Alexander McQueen!  And well done on your design (homage and execution) - it's nothing short of splendid!

I'm organizing, focusing and purging my craft projects and supplies in 2010.  Please PM me if you live in Chicagoland or SE Wisconsin and would like to swap, trade or barter supplies!  (I'd even trade some for delicious treats or good craft karma.)  Happy to send a list &/or photos as I compile it.
