I love it, but I think it's beyond my skill level/time commitment at this point. I really wish I could, though. Embarrassed

I started this last night with some lion brand wool ease, it worked up in the same gauge. It is white and sparkly... not the most expensive stuff to make this with... but I am young and cheap

The cable looks so complicated, but I am breezing through it. I love small lines in cables because you can do them without the cable needles, it really speeds the whole thing up. The problem is the I live in So Cal. so either I speed through this thing like crazy and finish it this month -- probably not gonna happen -- or I have to wait until the late fall to debut it.

Oh, I'm very interested.  Need another major project like a hole in the head, and I'm worried by the difficulty.  On the other hand I've just taught myself cables this week--and really not scary.

So *IF* I were to join up here  Wink, what do you think of these yarns from handpaintedyarn.com?
First of all, do you think handspun stuff (you know, not totally uniform) would work well for a cabled sweater?

Secondly, here's my first choice color (Pearl hk), apparently just the right gauge:

But technically I cannot afford it.
This one (willowbrook v) is a *lot* cheaper, but the gauge is unclear:

Anyone want to weigh in? Do you think these colors would look good? Anyone have any experience with these yarns?

Thanks!!

Hi Aunt Suzi,

Both color would look great as the Starsky!! But I have no idea if handspun would work well.

I am thinking a consistent and tightly wound yarn would be better as the cable would look more defined then.
