Knitty's Starsky Knit-A-Long?

Hi,

first post here, although have been a reader for sme time.  I'd love to join in the Starsky KAL!  I love it and I think I have just the right yarn for it.  Need to swatch it and see if I have the right needles but apart from that I'm in!

Okay, thanks you guys.  I will definitely practice before using the actual yarn that way I can work out anything.  Thanks and I can't wait until my needles arrive so I can start.

This is a pattern that you can do. It takes time, but not a lot of skill, if you ask me.  The hardest part is keeping the "hold to the front, or hold to the back" straight.  I'm getting ready for some cooler weather so I can wear mine!!!  It was not hard, just involved.

Needles: Sz 10.5(US) circs
Mods: Button Band instead of belt
Started and Finished during November.

Wow, Wynkoop, that looks so great.  I'd been putting off knitting this because I was afraid it would be bulky, but yours isn't at all. 

One question, though..  Merino Style is like, DK weight and the recommended yarn is supposed to be much thicker, so did you change the pattern to accomodate it?

Thanks for the lovely coments! Actually, I did not change the pattern at all (besides using the buttons/buttonholes and using US10.5 needles) I think mine probably does not have the ease that the original has, but since I am petite, it is fine with me! I really did not want a big bulky sweater, as I tend to wear thin layers.  Honestly, I think I got very lucky with the yarn substitute (it was taken from my stash) because I did not realize the recommended yarn was bulky until I was half finished with the back.
