Just finished my second quilt about a week ago.  This is my bargello quilt.

Oh, that's nice!!!!  Looks like it would take forever to make....it reminds me of the northern lights I grew up with in northern Canada.

It doesn't take as long as  you think it looks to make.  You could make it in about a week, week and a half, maybe less using machine quilting.  Longer if hand quiting. ( Thats if you don't have to work, go to school, do housework, look after kids, etc and just basically just worked on the quilt).

Bargello is basically done by strip piecing.  Cut strips of different fabric, sew together. Cut the strips again in other direction, sew strips together again making what ever pattern you want.

....it reminds me of the northern lights I grew up with in northern Canada.

That was the look I was going for.
