Hi,

I'm making Bears on my Blanket from Mary Maxim for my sister.  I'm intimidated  by the amount of yarn.  I've only done 2 crochet projects before.

Anyone done it?  Is it hard for a beginner?  Words of encouragement  welcome.

I don't have it but have been checking it out and would love to make it for my granbaby. It doesn't look hard & the stitches don't look difficult the only thing I would think might be intimadating would be placing and sewing the appliques on the blanket. It actually looks like it uses basic stitches and would be fairly easy to do.Again I haven't seen the pattern but from the pics I've seen.

You have to buy the whole kit from Mary Maxim here's the link to the site

http://www.marymaxim.com/Default.asp

It may not take you right to the kit the site makes it difficult to do that but the blaket is pretty much all over the site. It has bears and balloons appliqued on it you can't miss it.

It is super cute isn't it  Smiley Eventually they'll probably sell the pattern in a book or something.I'd buy the kit to make it then just have the pattern on hand. I think it would make a great baby gift.

I too would love this pattern, not the kit.  As I am from Australia, it is expensive enough to get the pattern without having to buy the yarn and ship it too!

i wonder if there is a way to contact mary maxim and request that they either offer the pattern only or offer other color variations. i would just love to make one for my baby (we don't have one but are trying) but i want more of the primary colors instead of the pastel.

I just want everyone to know that I have written them regarding offering this in pattern form only and i will post their reply as soon as i get one. hopefully they understand just how many people would be more likely to buy this if they had the option of choosing there own colors and their own yarn
