I'm going to be an aunt in March! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. Smiley My brother has asked for baby stuff for Christmas, and I've been thinking about embroidering some onesies. Can you suggest any patterns or somewhere I can find patterns that are:

- easy (I'm a beginner)
- fun/humorous/ironic
- possibly related to a rock star lifestyle
- baby-oriented (for example, I've seen some with "spit happens" on them, or the rock n roll ones with a rocking chair and baby carriage, the latter being waaaay beyond my skills at this point!)
...

Orrkid,
You might want to check out the swap and gallery for the recent "week of onesies", even though all are not embroidered or needlecraft... There just might be a craft that you haven't tried but would like a lot, like samples of applique, or stencilling. Here are the links (you might want to choose the "show images" option to go through all the pages faster):

I'm going to be an aunt in March! .....
And if you don't know the sex of the baby, you're stuck with two options, pastel green and pastel yellow - TWO options out of all the colors that come in a crayon box and beyond. Am I the only one who finds this just plain ridiculous?)

Congratulations on your impending aunt-hood. Aunts Rule!

Your right about the traditionally-limited color changes. And the whole sexist sillyness. But we crafty aunts are above all that. There's all the bright primaries. All my nieces and nephews got red sweaters and hats. Plus grey or navy. Plus orange or teal. In fact, the whole crayon box is open to aunts.

All colors for all babies!

Congrats on the Auntie-dom!

You might also want to try www.urbanthreads.co m
They have some super cute patterns.

Sublime stitching has the tattoo style stuff, or you can do a search for tattoo flash and line draw up something from that.

Good luck!

I did a few searches to see if this was posted already, but as far as I can see it hasn't been (if I'm wrong, I'll delete the post). I don't do any needlework but I stumbledupon this text generator... has a few different fonts. Hopefully it might help some of you fabulous stitchers out!

After peeking through the whole thread I was wondering if any of you happened to have some suggestions on where I could find some cross stitch patterns of pin ups/nose art?  (Even non free patterns would be great!)  I saw some lovely line designs, but my embroidery is not that great and I am not talanted enough to be able to color them in and convert them to a decent cross stitch pattern myself.

If not pin ups- how about cross stitch turtles, preferably not too cutesie.  My fiance loves turtles (and the old pin ups).  It would be nifty to make him a little surprise for Xmas.
Thank you!

I don't think anyone mentioned this one yet:  http://www.twdesignworks.com/Free/index.html

Teresa Wentzler has a few freebie counted cross stitch charts to download on her web page.  There's a couple of cute dragons and some nifty Celtic stuff.  Her pictures are so pretty, granted I'm not a fan of her quarter and three quarter stitches she tends to use, but dragons make me grin!

My cousin is having a baby in May and I wanted to make her something for the baby. Maybe not necessarily a birth record with weight, date, etc on it because our grandmother is doing that. I was thinking of maybe a name plate, or something like that. Her room theme is jungle with bright colors. I've seen several kits but they weren't really what I was looking for. I was hoping maybe for an alphabet sampler or just her name spelled out with animals on the letters? But after two days of searches, I've come up with nothing!

Does anyone here have any other resources I could try, or know of something off the top of your head?

Thank you so much!
