Well all I am making a windchime with a bunch of those crocheted fridge butterflie you see on just about every crochet page there is around.
Well I have found just about every thing I need except for the actual tubes that make the chiming noise
i love to reuse and recycle and I love to make things like this out of soemthing that you would not normally see or think of but, right now I am just runny dry on ideas
I have thought about silverwear but that is just not what I am looking for
And then I thought about going to the dollar store and finding a cheap wind chime and taking it apart for the tubes but I think that will just be a last resort
So I would like to pick your brains and see if any one else may have some ideas of what would be neat

Any help?Huh

GOLLY I hope someone comes up with an answer to this one! I have used washers and other nuts and bolts, but they don't chime lound enough. I have even considered doing the same with the dollar store cheepie... can't wait to see if there's some suggestions people have for this one!

lol. I'm going to sound like a total 'tard here, because I don't know if I'm thinking of the right word... But what about those *I think they're shells* that come out of guns after a shot's been fired? I don't know. I just remember going to church on Memorial Day, and my grandpa and a bunch of other veterans would fire a few shots into the air.  The he would give me the little gold shells (I hope that's what they're called). I don't know how much of a chiming noise they'd make, but they were hollow; I could blow across the tops and get a whistling noise... Just a thought though.

oooooo, great suggestion! They do have a cool sound, at least in the movies Smiley when hitting the cement after a really hot car chase! Wink Anyway, my FIL also loads his own casings (or whatever their called) and yea, maybe I could grab some from him too and try it!

Copper pipe has a nice tone, it's pretty, and it becomes prettier with age.
