Hi all,
Inspired by atomiqt's creations http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=20315.0, I made a bookmark for my bookworm friend. Here's what I did to make it: I bought a plain Hershey bar (1.55 oz.). Then I carefully cut along the underneath of the back flap. I removed the real candy and ate it (and that took a lot for me to do, considering I'm not a fan of the stuff.  Tongue) Continuing, I cut brown 3mm thick sheet of foam to the similar dimensions as the real candy (except a little longer so the candy will stick out of the top). I scored into it with a mechanical pencil sans lead and then with a pumpkin pattern scoring tool. Then, I went over it lightly in pen because it didn't have enough contrast to show that it was "embossed." But it is raised a little. And I didn't want to do the Hershey's writing on the candy. I always thought that was redundant. lol Aluminum foil was wrapped around the middle to make a shiny wrapper. Didn't they used to come with shiny foil? Anyway, I stuck the foam along with the foil into the little hershey wrapper pocket. They fit snuggly, so I didn't use glue or tape for the inside. The back tab is double-sided taped shut. Then I tore a piece of the hershey wrapper over and taped it down. Cut out a little bite mark and VOILA! That sure is a long explanation for something soooo simple, but there ya go. Oh, any suggestions on how to make it durable? That's a concern of mine. Thanks for looking and giving advice.

*GASP* i LOVE that!!! even though we don't have hershey's chocolate, that so rocks!!! i am in awe. As far as making it durable, im not too sure... maybe contact over it? of over the back of it to just help it a little? I dunno... contact is my answer to everything. I am soooooo inspired to go and make one, seeing as i saved the wrapper of my kit kat... hmmm. Anyway, i envy your friend so much.  Shocked Fudgegirl.

Ooh I love chocolate...  Cheesy Cute. Maybe you could get it laminated or if you don't want it to be plasticy spray it with some kind of sealant.

How thick is it?
If I made one that would me my only concern, to think if the book would close around it or if it would fall out.  Other than that I think it is adorable <333
