I know I saw a pattern (thought it was knitty but I guess not) for a little dainty change purse with one of those snap closure tops.  I thought it was called the "girlfriend bag" or something like that but I've googled it and searched and searched with no luck.  I was really wanting to lay out a plan for a new project tonight.  DARN!  Has anyone seen anything like this?  I think it was done with featherweight or slightly larger yarn and as I recall it was pink and may have had a little cable up the front.

Here's what I have so far.  I'm using Yarn Bee Intrigue in Blushing.  It has a lurex glitter in it and is much prettier in real life.  I've never done anything in size 2 needles before so this is challenging for me!  The cables are actually nicely accentuated believe it or not.  You might not be able to tell in the pic.

Thanks for posting this, funkyhooker. I recently got a Hello kitty change purse in a swap, but if I hadn't I'd be making this TODAY. Where did you get the snap top?

Holy smoke,, do you know how much I paid for the stinkin' little snap top?  $13.99 at Hobby Lobby!!!  I used a coupon naturally but WOW!  The knitty site recommends http://www.mjtrim.com/index.aspx and if I ever buy another one it'll be from there.  My ACMOORE or Michaels or walmart or Joanns didn't have them.  The one I got *IS* really pretty but I'll wait on one to come to me by mail next time.

I've checked into things like that and the problem is that those are "Crimped" and when you pry it open it looks junky.  This one has tiny little holes so that you can sew it on.  I dunno.,,  I'm gonna keep looking for a cheaper source even though I've already  bought this one.

I was afraid of that crimping thing...I might consider Frenkendrilling it with my dremel (Just got one for Christmas & I'm constantly looking for excuses to use it!)
Yours is really pretty. I'm just pretty broke  Grin
