I designed and made my own clay candle holder about 2 years ago for my art and design course at school and heres what came out at the end:

View of the deisgn on the side (its the same on the other side)(looks off-colour because I forgot to turn off flash for this picture):


Turned view to see where you put the candle in (a tea light is what it's suited for):


View from above (a bit blurry but you can't really see the little crack on the top Tongue):


When theres a lit candle inside the light glows through the holes, I originally made the top slightly curved in so you could put a little incense cone in it. Smiley The inspiration for the design came from butterflies if you hadn't guessed.

I'm quite proud of how it turned out. I moved house and changed schools almost straight after making it so I had to wait for it to be fired at my old school before it arrived, but their kiln broke and I didn't get it for about half a year.  Tongue
