any ideas for quick and easy easter toys for baskets?  we already stuff eggs with tiny bottles of soap bubbles, and quarters, to avoid giving the kids a completely candy filled basket...but the toys available are so expensive and poorly made, I can't help but think someone here has better ideas!

help!

You could make an adapted version of this:

This pattern is so cute, she only asks that you don't make them and sell them. I can't wait to make mine!

What about finger puppets?

Also, in my last issue of Woman's Day, they showed plastic Easter Eggs filled with rice krispie treats instead of candy.  When you open them, it's an egg shaped treat!

I made a stuffed little carrot, with a cute face. You could make play silks, playdough in easter eggs. i also made a small gnome.

I drew up a really basic bunny pattern. It makes  tiny cute little bunny, no pics yet, but I love the ones I made. It's on my blog for free, www.babyjoysreviews .com/tofu and as a pdf. I would just share it here, but it's saved on my other computer. I'll try to do it tomorrow. It's a little rough, but it works well. It makes a 5" or so little bunny.

what crafts do you do? I have a ton of bookmarks on my other computer for little chicks and the like.

here's the direct link to the pdf  http://www.babyjoysreviews.typepad.com/bunny.pdf

Mom2Blu your blog is very funny Smiley
I was at the dentist's office reading a copy of Family Fun magazine and I came across a cute idea.  They made dough using coffee grounds, shaped the dough like rocks (you could shape it like eggs) and then place toys and trinkets in the middle.   Then they baked them on some low temp (170?).  Then the kids can break them open to get the toys.
