Don't know if there has been one like it.
I'm thinking of classics like itsy bitsy spider, humpty dumpty, ring a round the rosie, etc.  I have a toddler and I seem to be seeped in mother goose culture lately so its on my mind.
what does everyone think?

Is there a thread with swap rules/guidelines somewhere?

what types of items are we thinking of making. Do they need to be for kids or just incorporate the nursery rhymes?

I'm making a craftster quilt using the Bright Hopes block. Wanna swap a block?

Oh, I don't know.  Stuff for adults or kids, I guess it depends on what anyone wants.  I was just thinking of picking up on the nursery rhyme themes.  With 'There was an old woman who lived in a shoe', for instance, someone could needle craft an illustration, or stencil the verse onto a tote, or paint a bunch of kids onto some shoes, or make a shoe with poly clay.  Or 'polly put the kettle on' could be painted onto a ceramic teapot.  Creating mosiacs or collages in handmade books for kids to read would be pretty cool.  If someone sewed, quilted or knitted a baby blanket that would be great.  A set of wall plaques, or collages, for decoration.  I guess it would mean applying this theme to whatever you do best.  Knitted jack and jills?  Peter peter pumkin eater earrings?  A baa baa black sheep necklaces?  Little boy blue pillow case?  It certainly doesn't have to be cartoony or juvenille.

Another way to look at this would be through Grimm's fairy tales, especially the dark sides of popular tales like cinderella, sleeping beauty, hansel and gretel.  Creepy gothic stuff.  Ring around the rosie...  Rock a bye baby, in the tree top....

Or, and this would probably be a separate swap, erotic nursery rhymes?  Totally adult, no kids stuff.  Could be dirty/funny takes on mother goose (the queen of hearts made some tarts..., or my mother's second verse to jack be nimble, which goes 'jack be nimble, dont be a klutz, because if you miss, you'll burn your ----).  Or more serious erotica of nursery rhymes, picking up on latent imagery (here we go around the mulberry bush, ride a cockhorse to banbury cross - okay, that one doesnt take much imagination)

Is that helpful?

I just found out that I can't join a swap until I am a member of craftster for a month Sad WHat a bummer.
