Thats so cool! I love the house and senate quote on the hammer.
My husband bought me a jigsaw for xmas back when we first started dating. It was true love... but I still have more power tools than him!

So many childhood memories are brought back to me by the smell of wood glue and solder from hanging out with Dad while he worked on projects. I still have an old circuit board we made together while he taught me about acid etching.
The very first thing my mom bought for me when I moved into a dorm was a simple tool set. Hammer, good screwdriver, etc. The best part of it all was when the guys across the way came to borrow my beloved Maxwell. (It's a silver hammer.)

since we're sharing our sexism regarding DIY stories, last christmas I was thinking I wanted to learn how to fix maintain etc my own car. my brother and dad are both pretty technical and can pretty much fix anything (I am deadly serious between them they should open a baber surgeon's, mechanics, computer repairs, cobblery, seamstressing, and carpenters)  so we were sitting around and I said "hey could you guys teach me about cars?" fully expecting an "ok" "after my beer" "if you get me another beer" "later" but not for every male in the room to pull the what the flip face and burst out laughing. I'm still angry.

Thist made me so mad killer_threader, like many girls in this thread, I was given a tool set when I got into college, and the guys would come to me, not only to borrow my tools, but to have me help them with schematics.  I was raised by a feminist mother and very awesome father who saw no lines of gender roles.  My Dad has always been the bread winner, but now he's gone off to start his own business and letting my Mom be the main provider.
I have to say that I would love this tool box, if it weren't for me most of my guy friends now wouldn't have any tools.
