My good friend is a big time feminist...and loves to be able to do things that are normally considered male activities.  So, I thought the perfect gift would be to create a feminist toolbox.  I bought a plain toolbox at Target and decoupaged it with various feminist pictures, quotes, and photos of strong women role models.

The quote says: Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did but backwards and in high heels.

Here's the backside:

Katharine Hepburn: If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun

I got inspired by all the supercool magnets on this site and used some of those glass marbles to magnify various pics.

I also added a few embellishments on some of the tools inside.

I hope she likes it, tell me what you think!!

That's great!  All girls should have their own tools.  Little story here:  my dad sent me to college with a small toolset and a drill.  I asked a guy to help put up my loft and he said he'd go borrow tools.  No, says I, I have a set of tools.  After that, all the guys came to borrow my tools - I was extremely popular!LOL

so much cooler than those damn flowered sets that they sell for women now.  have you seen those things?  no self-respecting woman would ever use them.

i asked my boyfriend for an cordless drill/screwdriver for christmas.  he wouldn't get it for me because, "isn't that something a guy asks for?"  fortunately, "santa" knew better  Wink  (maybe it's because santa is a woman who uses tools as well Wink)
