I'm glad you liked it!  This swap was a lot of fun to craft for.  The hardest part was the shrine, because I wanted to do so much detail.  It is stained and distressed, and the back has one of paradisecrane's favorite quotes.  The pic on the inside is handcolored and decoupaged, and accented with red paper roses.  There is a tea light to make it a bit spookier.

The stickers represent Poe's audience, or possibly even his mom.  Then, there is a little framed picture of one of his most famous portraits, a gothic pin that totally reminded me of something one of his characters would wear, and a plaque to represent one of paradisecrane's favorite works- Annabel Lee.

I wish I could claim credit for that!  But no, it actually belonged to my grandfather, and I'd look at it every time I read Annabel Lee.

I received today from paradisecrane! I didn't realize there were 87 pictures on my camera, so as soon as they're done downloading, I'll get some pics up here.
She made a telltale heart clock, some awesome stationery and cards, and a tote bag!

here's all of it:

for some reason, i didn't get a closer picture of the bag. i love it though! here's what she wrote, and i completely agree:
"The bag is not what people would think of Edgar, but it reminded me a lot of the scenery in Eleonora, and I really wanted to make you something from your favorite Poe story!"
LOVE IT.

here are the cards:

i didn't take a pic of the lined paper because i thought the first picture showed it well, but through some weird resizing and cropping it lost its goodness. anyway, it has Poe in the corner and on the top it says "deep in earth my love is lying and i must weep alone"

here is the clock, which hangs in the kitchen now, replacing my cappuccino clock:

and of course, Rob steals all ribbon and trim that comes with any of my swaps. this ribbon was wrapping the notecards.

I am panicking. I just checked the tracking number for the package i sent to raindrops and it says "acceptance" at my post office on march 10th.
that's the same thing it said about the last swap package i mailed there, that they LOST!
I spent soooo much time on this one. I thought about insuring it, but thought they wouldn't lose two packages in a row there. if they lost this one, I'm never going there again. I am seriously terrified.

Thanks so much for the compliments guys!  The clock is real easy to do ravenhaired--just by a $4 clock at Wal-mart, take it apart do what you want to do with it and put it back together again!  I've done it for several swaps and gifts and they are always a real big hit!

I love your stationary paradisecrane! I always have way more stationary than I need, but I may have to  make myself some anyway.
The clock is very awesome as well. I wish I could paint with that much detail!

Man, everyone's stuff is so great, I'm having serious swap anxiety. I may need to make a second package.

WHEW! raindrops got my package! I thought I was going to have to kick some postal booty! Anyway, she said she can't post pics at the moment, so I will. I didn't take pictures of everything, just the bag and hankie.

Poe stencilled/appliqued messenger:

Close-up of Poe

Inside - looks like a zipper pocket but i didn't have a zipper, so it's just that kind of pocket, without the zipper. on the other side is a sewn-on pocket with two pen pockets

backside is one big pocket

secret pocket in the strap

hankie

that was so annoying to make - i zig-zagged around the edges of it THREE TIMES, and every time I turned a corner it messed up.

I also made: raven magnet, poe bottlecap resin neckace, and two teeny ravens cast in resin (was going to make earrings but they took forever to harden and I ran out of time so i just included them).

Isn't it great?  I love the whole package!  The resin ravens (how 'bout that alliteration? Cheesy) are decorating a scrapbook page about Mr. Poe, and the magnet is doing its tour of duty on the fridge.  Thanks so much for the amazingly awesome package!

Those resin ravens do sound very lovely. Would you happen to have a picture to share, raindrops?

Your stencil is very lovely as well, dooney. I haven't done much stenciling because I'm afraid I would be able to get it to come out so precise.
Is resin hard to deal with, apart from being slow to dry? (Like I need to pick up a new hobby!)

You kind of have to work fast or it'll get globby, but you also have to work slow or you'll get bubbles, plus it's soooo easy to mess it up with fingerprints when you take it out of the mold. but it's really worth it, i'd recommend it. Check out some of the other resin threads, that's how I got started.

YES I do  Grin

I got my wonderful package from magpie_eyes - it's a ultra cool package of Poe goodies

I got a geat T-shirt with Lenore stenciled on it in sliver - wonderful stencil - The tote is so nice - it's a got a way cool raven on it in green. Just love the style of it. And the very best most orginal thing is the locket!  It says Tell Tale Heart in the background and has a pink heart charm floating in it - This is beyond cool.

thanks so much Magpie_eyes!!!

Hey all!
edit:  here is the package I received from EowynUlysses!  A crocheted  handbag from a Debbie Bliss pattern in my favourite colour,  a handmade sketchbook with an illustration on the front, and some collected stories by Poe.  (modelled by my kitten, Lucky.)  Thank you again EowynUlysses!
also, thanks  for the nice comments everyone!  I made the locket by using a pocket watch case - you can make little collages in them, they are a lot of fun.  And the raven and Lenore are actually silkscreened images, made by the photo -emulsion method.   I am thinking about making myself some Lenore pillowcases now. I received from anna-begins today and was simply blown away!
I don't have any pictures today, but I'll do my best to describe everything.

First, a lovely pillow with a fabric silhouette of a raven and the stenciled word "nevermore" in silvery paint written in a pretty Gothic font. The print on the pillow is grey roses on a grey background. So perfectly Poe!

Then a blue paper-machie box, about 3'' on a side. It has two of the final stanzas  of The Raven printed on a clear page (vellum?) and a portrait of a young Poe on a plaque in the center. Each corner lovely antique gold colored um corner dealie. It's just the perfect size to keep all my tape and things together on my desk.

Inside the box, was a wee shrine. It's book-shaped with a book-cover image on the front. It reads "Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Mystery and Madness, illustrated by Gris Grimly." The inside has a small pin of Poe (where on Earth did you find such a thing?) and a small picture of a raven standing on a book with the words "The Raven" above his head. A small piece of paper reads " "All that we see or seem/ Is but a dream within a dream." - Edgar Allan Poe"

As if all that weren't enough, inside the shrine was a bracelet. It has the most prefect raven pendent you ever saw. The detail is just exquisite. He has individual feathers! He hangs down from a heart-shaped Celtic cross bead. There are 10 wee red heart glass beads and a lovely exquisite silver rose bead. I couldn't wait to but it on!

Also, some lovely blackcurrent tea that is called "Black Raven Tea." I have been wanting blackcurrent tea for a long time and am a huge fan of tea in general. I haven't brewed any yet, because the caffeine would keep me up, but I'm sure it's delicious.

I have been so totally spoiled! My goodness!
I will definitely have to send you some more things magpie, you got gypped!

I'm so glad you got my package today, EowynUlysses. Thanks again for organizing such a great swap. I loved crafting for this swap because it let me reacquaint myself with some of Poe's work. I took some pictures before sending everything out (except for the little shrine, I made that as an afterthought when I realized i needed something to put the bracelet in).

Pillow:

Bracelet (I wish I could take credit for making the raven charm, but I found it at a bead shop):

Trinket Box:

Black Raven Tea (this is so good - if you ever see it pick some up - it's yummy!)

The tissue box is really neat as well!
Is that a raven on a bust of Pallas I spy? I can't quite make out the other, what is its theme?

Oh thanks - orange-stringed one is a pic of a stack of books, and yes it is a raven on a bust of Pallas - the other is The fall of the House of Usher. when his sister comes back from her grave. The other bookmark is so nice wish I had a better pic of it -  it' s a ATC that I found on google images when I googled Poe, she gives permission for use of her ATC as long as it's not sold.

So my original partner didn't end up sending me anything but EowynUlysses was nice enough to be my angel!  I got her package today and I am very happy!

She made me this super soft hat:

And a great journal plus some stationary with pictures to match the quotes from the Raven (this ebony bird beguilling all my sad fancy into smiling), The Tell-Tale Heart (It was the beating of his hideous heart), The Black Cat (Pluto was a remarkably large and beautiful animal, entirely black), and The Masque of the Red Death (his broad brow, with all the features of the face was besprinkled with the scarlet horror).

Thanks so much, Elizabeth!!   Kiss

I got a second suprise package from EowynUlysses!  I got spoiled too, - here are the pictures...

a raven keychain which now resides on my work bag,

some Poe inspired stationary,
a crocheted black bird pin, which also lives on my workbag now,

and a black crocheted headband, that I wanted to model for everyone, but I have no makeup on, and am scary looking.  So my chair will do the honours...  You are very talented!!! Thank you a mazillion!!!!!
