I made this for my niece for the olympics.

Here's a bad closeup of the flowers that are on the bottom of the shirt and around the crown of the hat.
I had a hard time with the hat. I crocheted it with soft sport weight yarn and  carried a size 10 cotton thread with it, to try to keep it a bit more rigid (it's ok).

I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I wish white looked that great on me! (Don't mind the cruddy pics or how messy my room is. I was trying to crank out a bunch of stuff, but I wanted to be sure I got pictures of her in it while I was still thinking of it.  Cheesy )

Hope you like it!

ETA: Flower Motif
I hope this makes sense to everyone, I'm not the best at writting out patterns. If you have questions or if you see a goof, let me know. This is also just for one motif, so if you were making a summer top or hat like I did, you would make multiples in a row of these. Anyway, here you go

Flower Motif

Ch 14
R1-Work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across. Turn (12 dc)
R2- Ch3 which counts as first dc, 1 dc in each dc to end. Turn (12 dc)
R3 & R4- Repeat R2
R5- ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 4dc, ch2, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc. Turn
R6- ch3, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 6, skip (2dc, 2ch, 2dc,) 1 dc in each dc to end. Turn
R7- ch3, 1dc in each of the next 2 dc, ch3, sl st around ch-6 loops of previous rows, ch3, 1 dc in the last 3 dc. Turn (This can be tricky, look at pic above to see what I did)
R8- ch3, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, 2dc in next ch3-sp, ch2, 2dc in next ch3-sp
R9- ch3, 1 dc in each dc & ch across, turn(12dc total)
R10-12- repeat R2

I hope this is clearer than mud for you Smiley

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

That's absolutely precious!!!!!!  Your little girl is SO adorable, and I love her top and hat together. So precious...

I also noticed the quilt... did you make that too? I love the colors.

Thank you for all of the compliments!

muskratbyte I did make the quilt too.

I can write out the pattern for the flower motif. It isn't difficult. I just wing it, and never write things down (I know I should).
I'll sit down with my hook and yarn and try to write it out soon for you.

Thanks again!
