newbie swap

How about a swap designed for those who meet the requirements for a swap, but are still a little inexperienced in organized craft swapping.

I think that's a great idea and would have made the transistion into swapping (for me) a lot easier.
The only thing is, at least one person would needs to have been in a swap in order to organize it.
I'm sure that could be worked in. And hopefully this happens because for sure it would be good. Wow, how well was that put, "for sure it would be good".

I'm totally interested in the idea of a newbie swap.

It sucks that all the "old timers" get to have all the fun but it would suck even worse to work for hours and hours on something and have it go to someone who bailed. My only thought on reducing this would be that there would be an initial test swap of something that took a short amount of time to make and if anyone flakes the list gets shuffled without them in it.

I wonder if there are any kind-hearted graftsters out there who were once newbies, have since swapped and wouldn't mind organizing something small...

oh--I would be so in on this!  I have bought things in anticipation of a swap, but haven't seen any swaps where I would be swapworthy...this would rock!!

yeah, I agree that we need someone experienced swapper to organize it. Also, having the swap be a small item, at least in round one, would be good.

If you need any help I'd be more than willing to help out as well. The craft group/stitch and bitch I started is starting to run on its own so I have a lot more free time now that was once used as PR time for the group.

So I guess the next step is to brainstorm themes...

I can't take part in swaps yet but I have an idea - 'actor obsession'? [see: my avatar LOL] Anything that has to do with a hot actor a particular person really really likes - what do you think?

I'd love to participate, too.  I've always wanted to try a swap, but really had no idea where to begin... or even what the rules are.  This is a great idea.  I'm in!    What do I need to do/know?
