When do you want to get this swap started?

I like the idea of making something realting to your specialty. I could try to match people up so you receive something you couldn't make yourself. Everyone could list their specialty and then things that they don't know how to make, but would want.
This way you wouldn't need to "stalk posts", because you are making something that you are good at. You could just ask simple questions such as fav. colors, sizes, etc.

i think these are all great ideas...making what you are best at, making it a wish swap (but maybe really general, like...jewelry or a tote),  making one item/set!

maybe we could have a rolling signup so you can choose a wish to fulfill as soon as your one month is up.  im thinking of modeling it after the unconditional swap.

what do you think?

That is a good idea, but it would be the same thing as the unconditional swap, where newbies could also join. I think it needs to be the kind of swap with a send out day and specific partner so you get the experience of having a deadline and crafting for someone else with their favorite colors, even if you don't like those colors. This is just my opinion though, I'm not new to swapping so it's not up to me.

I would love to take part too - the swaps always seem like a lot of fun.    And I heartily agree with the whole make something you're good at idea.

it would be like the unconditional swap but the point of us wanting a newbie swap is because we are nervous about our crafts, etc.  i might join the unconditional, but i'd rather do this because im apprehensive.  we could still have a due date, i.e. 2 weeks after you tell the organizer that you will fulfill such and such a wish.  and we are still crafting towards someone's favorites if we are fulfilling their wish.  i just though that a less specific "wish" would be easier for a newbie to fulfill.  some wishes in the unconditional swap are SPECIFIC!

thats my thoughts, anyway.

So, being a newbie I don't know what makes one "eligible" for a swap... Someone said earlier that they had just become eligible. What do I have to do to become worthy?

I also like the idea of making what you do well and maybe getting a list of things that your partner likes so you can tailor your project to their likes. The list would also help to inspire those who do a lot of things well and don't really know what to make without a specified theme. Just because you're a newbie to crafster doesn't mean you're a newbie to crafting.

This is awesome and I'm still 100% in.

To be eligible for a swap you need to have posted 15 times, and have been a member for one month.
You must complete your first swap and have positive feedback before you can join another. After that, it's a free-for-all!!
