I got my Mens issue in the local Smiths - I've just tried to call them to see if they have the next one, but no answer.

If I can get more than one, are any other UKers interested?  I'd be happy to trade for either money, or craft stuff/supplies.

I just received a reply from Taj and from this issue, they will be selling Knit 1 for 3.25. Hooray!

I should bloody think so :O  I've always bought my Knit1 with other stuff so that I wouldn't have to fret about postage, but blimey, that's a lot for one tiny magazine...

Purple Heather - how much did Smiths charge for the mag?

And I agree on Simply Knitting, although they've had some nice patterns hidden in there.  What I really hate is seeing all those patterns in Knitting Magazine that are clearly designed for someone 60 years older than the model wearing it.  What the hell was going on with those shoe embellishments in the Xmas issue?!  And yet I still buy it, in a vague hope that it might get better suddenly...

EDIT:  I just noticed TAJ have Knit Simple as well, but it is 6 quid Sad  Perhaps I should buy some yarn to make the postage and overall cost look better...

I don't buy SimplyKnitting now.  I bought one issue, and now stand and read it in the WHSmiths before I consider it.  The issue with the tags in was OK but I have no use for their tape measure (already have 2) and definitely no use for ANOTHER fullsize wallposter of all the different stitches I learnt 6 months ago.

I'm not sure who they are aiming it at but I don't think it'll be around in 12 months if they continue the same way they have been doing.

I brought one issue from a little newsagents or like 3.95 but that was last summer and they havent had another copy. Admittley the pattern I did knit from there was pretty poor and turned out wrong but I still liked the magazine.

In fairness to simply knitting it has got a bit better over the last couple of months. Its an start at least!
