My friend just married an island man so I made her this bag.  It's the 2nd one I've made like this but this time I used interfacing.  It's definitely not as floppy as the last one but still half-assed.  Here 'tis...

Close-up of Hula Girl:

Inside:

It's corduroy on the outside and palm tree print on the inside.  There is a velcro closure and a pocket on both the inside and the outside.  I hope she likes it Smiley  Oh yeah, I got the patch from www.reprodepot.com.

That's beautiful! Cheesy It doesn't look half-assed to me. Could you post a tutorial so I can make one some day?

Thanks!  I used this one. http://www.supereggplant.com/archives/000216.html  But I added pockets by cutting out rectangles and then folding them in half, good sides facing each other, sewed them together and then flipped them right side out.   Then I sewed them to their spots before I sewed up the sides of each piece.

I take hula lessons, so anything islander just floats my boat (you oghta see my room). It doesn't look half-assed at all. I think you did a great job. I like the inside, too.

Thanks for the website, I am going to make myself one, and possibly make some for Christmas.
Thanks again,
