I have a regular Singer home sewing machine (model 6412, if that means anything to any of you!) and I want to experiment with leather and suede scraps. First, does anyone know if I can use a sturdy needle and use my machine or is that crazy??

Second, does anyone know any good resources for suede & leather? I'd love to get some bright colors, if possible.

any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers!

I would look into getting a needle for your machine that is specifically for sewing leather.  A Teflon presser foot would probably help you out as well.  Check eBay auctions for scrap...I have seen some good deals on a "grab bag" of leather/suede scraps.
