wow, thank you all for your kind words! i'm afraid i'll never be able to post a completed project again, because i'm planning on never making anything this difficult again!!

How much did the dress cost over all?

total cost was around $200 for all fabric, lining, interlining, thread, and covered-button kit.

I don't think I see a sewing machine in any of those pictures.  Did you do the whole thing by hand?

no, that would have killed me! i definitely used a machine, my mum's ancient elna. i did the hems by hand, and, uh, some were just basted because i was running out of time! no one seemed to notice though...

what an amazing house you have!

not mine unfortunately - pics taken on the day of were at a friend's house a block away from the hall where we had the wedding.
